1. Preparation Timeline

  • August 28 – 30: Planning & Material Collection

    • Finalize the list of decorations and activities.
    • Gather materials: chart papers, coloured papers, markers, glue, scissors, ribbons, etc.
    • Assign roles to students for creating specific decorations.
  • September 1 – 3: Decoration Creation

    • Posters & Banners: Students design posters with messages like "Happy Teacher's Day" and banners to hang around the classroom.
    • Paper Flowers & Garlands: Create paper flowers and garlands to decorate the blackboard and windows.
    • Desk Decorations: Make small paper cards or notes for each teacher's desk with personalized messages.
    • Wall Art: Design a "Thank You" wall where students can paste their handwritten notes of gratitude.
  • September 4: Classroom Setup

    • Arrange the decorations in the classroom.
    • Ensure the "Thank You" wall is placed in a prominent location.
    • Place desk decorations and any small gifts on the teachers' desks.

2. Event Schedule

  • 10:00 AM – 10:10 AM: Welcoming Teachers

    • Students greet teachers with handmade flowers and escort them to the classroom.
    • A student representative gives a welcome speech.
  • 10:10 AM – 10:30 AM: Student Performances

    • Speech: A student gives a speech appreciating teachers.
    • Song/Dance Performance: Students perform a song or dance dedicated to the teachers.
    • Poem Recitation: A student recites a poem written about teachers.
  • 10:30 AM – 11:00 AM: Interactive Games

    • Guess the Teacher: A fun game where students describe a teacher's qualities, and the class guesses who it is.
    • Teacher Trivia: A quiz about the teachers' favourite things, hobbies, etc.
  • 11:00 AM – 11:30 AM: Thank You Wall Activity

    • Students individually approach the "Thank You" wall, read their notes aloud, and hand them to the respective teachers.
  • 11:30 AM – 11:50 AM: Refreshments

    • Serve light snacks and drinks to teachers and students.
    • Students can serve snacks and engage in informal conversations with teachers.
  • 11:50 AM – 12:00 PM: Closing Ceremony

    • A thank-you speech by the class representative.
    • Group photo with all teachers and students.
    • Distribution of small handmade gifts to teachers.

3. Roles & Responsibilities

  • Decoration Team: Responsible for making and setting up all decorations.
  • Performance Team: Prepares and rehearses the performances.
  • Refreshment Team: Arrange for snacks and ensure everything is served smoothly.
  • Game Coordinators: Organize and oversee the interactive games.
  • Class Representative: Delivers speeches and coordinates the overall event.
